"My husband and I were beyond thrilled with our experience at Big Spring Farm! This was a destination wedding for us, traveling from Florida, and neither of us had ever been to Virginia before. As a wedding photographer myself, I’ve seen my fair share of venues, so I was looking for something unique—something that felt warm and personal, not like a mass-produced wedding factory. Buddy and Jill, with their background in photography, truly understand the importance of the little details. They felt like a Chip and Joanna Gaines family, welcoming, thoughtful, and incredibly down-to-earth. Since we were coming from Florida, we weren’t able to visit the venue often, but whenever we did make the trip, it was usually spontaneous. Buddy and Jill were so gracious, always making time for us to visit the property. The venue has a small room in the barn where the guys can get ready, but it doesn't have natural light, and depending on the size of your wedding party, it might feel a bit tight. We decided to book an Airbnb less than a minute down the road, which worked out perfectly for our photo and video team. I got ready in their beautiful on-site cottage, which overlooks the venue and offers stunning views (and the occasional glimpse of cows in the morning!). We also rented an ATV to take us up the mountain for photos. Honestly, even if you don’t think you’ll care about taking photos up there (though I don’t know why you wouldn’t), the ride itself was a wonderful way to step away for a moment and soak it all in. Our ceremony took place on the hilltop, and we used a golf cart to transport guests to and from the cocktail hour area. From start to finish, our experience at Big Spring Farm was incredible. Buddy, Jill, Emma, and the entire team were such a pleasure to work with, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We wouldn’t change a thing!"
